#1 Spacers that change stud pattern are available. Expect to pay around $600 for the 4. Local dealers tell me they are available in thicknesses from 15 MM.

#2 Commodore discs will bolt straight on the front. The calipers won't. Hoppers kits are $1100 for the front. As for the rear, a Commodore diff would be the cheapest way to adapt. VK - VL BW diff has a rear track of 1440 MM, A9X rear track is 1443.2 MM. The other rear option is a 9" conversion.

Hey chopper arn't these wheel spacers/stud pattern changes illegal??
Don't care to much as i think i might just put them on the rear anyway until i get new axels. I was going to posibly go the hopper's front kit and change to commo pattern as it dosn't cost anymore...
If they are legal what do you think of them any way?? are they safe??
Oh also if i do get them any idea what would be the best thickness to place the wheel in the best spot to fit the biggest rubber on the rear, std guards only lipped?
Got 245's on 15' volvo now the car is lowered but not super low.

These ones are legal. The reason is that because they are bolted to the hub, they then become part of the hub, unlike the ones that slide over the studs and are held inplace by the rim. They are only usefull if the rims you intend on using are dished in more than the Torana ones. Otherwise, you get a massive ( read: illegal ) track increase. So as a general rule for Toranas, if the rims you want have an offset of +40 or more then these spacers are a good thing. If the rims have an offset of +25 or less, then the wheels will stick out too far.

Practical example:

If the rims on the car ATM are UC SLE alloys ( 13x6" with +25 offset ) and you want 17x8" rims with +43 offset AND you want the inside edge of the rim to sit EXACTLY where the inside edge of the UC SLE rims sit, then you would need 43.5 MM spacers.

Thanks chop, so if i want to put commodore 15' interceptors on (or did you say once that you could get "tradsman 15x6" or something, cheap??) for now and drags, but maybe 17 or 18x8 ss r8 statesman.... or other big commo/bmw wheels later for street or show(not legal obviusly as over 15x7), where would i get these spacers for the rear only?

Is there much if any differance in later model BMW / Commodore offset and stud patter??
Just checking but if i go commodore because of the offset difference compared to torana these wheels won't illigally increase my track(if i get the wheel in the same position using the right size spacer)?
thanks chop

A 15x6 Commodore steel wheel is a 15" Commodore steel wheel, whether you want to call them intercepter rims or whatever. 99.99% of these rims are +43 offset. Early ute rims were +37 and VP IRS cars used +27 rims.

BMW rims ranged from +22 to +47. Stud pattern is the same, however the centre bore is around 74 MM, compared to 69.5 MM for the Commodore. Ideally, you would use a rim with the same centre bore as the hub. It won't matter with most older vehicles, but does matter on all Nissans built after 1990 and BMW's.

To increase the track by one inch by using +43 Commodore rims on the Torry ( compared to using 13x5.5" stock rims ), you would need to use 33 MM spacers. What fits under the guards depends on tyre width and how low/high the car sits.

My Bro in law has picked up an LX hatch with commodore stud pattern all round. The fronts must be commodore as i've never seen this type of caliper on a torana. I'm sure it was using a solid disc though. I'll see if i can get some pics of this setup as its what alot of people are wanting.

Can't think of the name of the place off the top of my head, but there is a tyre place in Mitcham ( VIC ) on Maroondah Hwy next to the gold prospecting shop. They used to be Mitcham Tyre service. I think their number is still ( 03 ) 9873 1322. They are the people who have previously given me info on these spacers.

Yes, he did. I used to work for him on a casual basis ( along with about 130 other places ) in the mid 90's. I remember once he drove down to Phillip Island to run a few laps. Anyway, a pushrod failed, which took out a couple of other engine bits. It wound up being an expensive weekend for him.

Wow, i didn't realise the track width of VK-VL BW diff was so close to A9X.
Should also work out cheaper than the Vn diff i was thinking about. No cutting of axels and so on, just R & R suspension mountings and fit to torry.

CHOPPER, that's really cool info. Here i was worried about if i go a hoppers kit i didn't have many options to get the same bolt patter on the rear! I'm going to have to ring around and price the mods to a Vk - Vl diff.

Cheers

Would these spacers be good for simply widerning your track width and if so do they fit to Torana stud on diff and have Torana stud pattern from spacer to wheel? My wheels and tyers do not look wide enough for my a9x guards

You can order them Torana>>Torana if you wish. As I have previously posted, they are available from 15MM thick. I believe they go to around 50MM thick.
