Yesterday I drove home for my break, jumped back in the car to go to work, but again it wouldnt start.
So this morning I checked out the starter motor which seems to be fine, and the neutral safety switch. After unplugging it and replugging it several times, making sure the connections were all good and everything, the car still wouldnt start. so I kept fiddling around with the switch and the starter motor and I ended up giving up, but before I went inside I tried it one more time and it started...
So I turned it on and off several times and it now seems to be going ok...
Im happy the car will start but I dont know what the problem was!
THis has really got me stumped, so if anyone could offer any ideas on what the problem actually is and how to fix it that would be great, as I dont want this to happen again!

mine was the same didnt matter if i wiggled it, reconnected it etc etc i just had to have my face a certain way for it to start.
just run a wire bypassing the switch to make sure it is the NNS before you get replacement or bypass.

It's the smoke in the wires you gotta worry about, when that stuff leaks out, you're in trouble.Ok thanks, the only problem is I've got absoultely NO idea about electricals... lol

It happened again today! After fiddling around with the switch it started up again though... Im gonna go have a look and make sure all the connections are ok down there...

could be a number of things that are slightly loose. One culprit is the starter solenoid(the small cylinder where all the wires go on the starter motor), give it a tap with a hammer is the usual cure till you get sick of it.

On top of the column near the firewall is the combination reverse light/neutral safety switch.
Unplug & join the 2 purple wires to defeat the switch. Disconnect the purple wire from the starter motor & use a test light to check the start circuit.

Why not put a switch in-between as well, then if it gives you grief you can switch the bypass on.
One that will get you out of trouble,
Two it will also tell you for sure that the NSS is the problem, if it works straight away without any fiddling, NSS!
