Hi All

Does anyone have any reviews on underbonnet superchargers on a 350. Are they legal in QLD in a torana? What kind of power increase do they offer?.

Came across a 350chev, ported Fuellie heads, comp cams cam, steel crank, forged rods & pistons, 800 holley etc all polished including TH 350 to suit for $7500 apparently only travelled 2000klm? Would this be worth it with the supercharger not knowing the exact internals but provided it runs well after we put it through a few tests? If the charger only adds minimal power then I dont see it as worth it really so just after some reviews??

Cheers
Brett

Years ago B & M published a Supercharger Technical Manual which covered mini blowers with dyno testing at different levels of modfication. I think this manual is well out of print now, but you can still get Pat Ganahl's Street Supercharging which is a good read.
B & M testing produced 320hp from a stock 350 witha 144 size blower. Head and cam changes saw maximum power of around 420hp with a 144 and 460hp with a 166. Without knowing more about your motor and set up its impossible to know what it will produce. Fuellie heads are no longer the ticket to high performance but will suffice for mild upgrades.
In addittion to forged internals (low compression upto 9:1 absolute max) the engine should have a regraphed dizzy without vacuum advance, pressure diversion valve hooked into the vacuum modulator on the gearbox and decent fuel supply. Holley blue, Mallory 110 or 140 will get the job done.
