I found a set of front discs on Trademe a while ago and couldn't resist at the price. Now I have to find a way to fit them to the UC front end - if possible??

They are the DBA5000 HSV premium two piece, pn DBA5055, 342mm x 32mm.

Definitly overkill for the nice light UC!! I am using 300mm Skyline GTR rear discs and calipers so needed a large disc on the front to maintain some sort of balance.
The car is not a daily driver and will see the track often, with a bit of luck...

OK - Questions...

1 - Will these mount happily on a Commodore hub on the UC stub - VT or ???
2 - Recomendations for a suitable 4 pot caliper.
3 - Are mount brackets for the calipers available to suit this size disc?
4 - Will the whole setup fit inside a 17" wheel?
5 - Clearance issues with steering/susp components?
6 - Master cylinder/booster recomendations?
7 - Would I be better off with a pedal box, such as a Tilton, and do away with the booster?

Any other bright ideas would be appreciated.

Cheers

#1 Shouldn't be a problem. Harrop sells the hubs at $414 a pair.
#2 How much do you want to spend? $1460 for a pair of AP calipers.
#3 Harrop make adapters, but are at Harrop prices. datttoman is ( might be ) making adapters to suit 330 MM discs.
#4 330 MM discs, yes. 342 MM, maybe not.
#5 Not sure.
#6 1" M/C
#7 Unsure of legal issues with using such a pedal box on the street.

Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?

1. Yes as Chopper says use a VT conversion hub. This means Commodore stud pattern.
2.Being 32mm thick I use a 6 piston AP caliper on these discs when I fit them to Commodores. $1085 each. You can use a 4 post as Chopper said and space the caliper halves out (like XU1's did) but I don't do this.
This setup originally used a Harrop 4 pot caliper. You might be able to adapt them but I doubt it as they have lug mounting and the lug is 99$ in the wrong spot.
3.Mount brackets are available if you had CRS spindles to suit commdore brakes but not for a UC spindle. You have to engineer something up.
4.Some wheels yes..... some wheels no. Commodore Cup ROH wheels will fit but most others won't. V8 Supertaxis get 375mm discs under 17" wheels but they are very specific wheels with little or no bead recess.
5.Since the disc is so large it should clear everything. I know a 330mm setup does...... on CRS spindles.
6.Standard master and booster will work. Pedal box would be ideal but you can't buy one off the shelf so thats more fabricating.
7.As above.

5055's are nice rotors hey. Bit overkit on a Torana though. 5046B with the hub would have been my choice
