engine help

we just put an auto into my uc torana, and now wen it takes off from the traffic lights the car almost stalls but it idles at about 1200rpm its got a worked 179 with a 30/70 cam and a standed stally and 3.9 diff gears

sounds like a vacuum leak...how is the hose that goes back to the modulator? is the manifold tight?
