Not sure about SA but around $300 for a 4 door LX here in Canberra, one of the Vic members just got his done at mates rates and from memory that was $160.00. Now $160 is what I call affordable

depends on the brand of tint.
Alot of the places that advertise cheap tint jobs, are just that. CHEAP!
and with cheap comes the nastiness, the discolouring, the bubbling etc etc.
Johnsons window tint is probably one of, if not the best film around.

Up here in BrisVegas, Premier tint offer darkest legal tint for $100, but I had my last daily (Suby Impreza) done by them (wasn't that offer, I chose some different stuff, supposed to be better, and more exy) and I will never go back to Premier for as long as I live. They told me to turn up at 7am when they opened at 8:30, the job was crappy (had to get them to redo 2 windows straight up then the rear w/screen after a couple years) and they lost a couple of trim plugs. Very disappointed! I've found a (professional) bloke to do a weekend job for me, he's quoted between $300 and $350, depending on the sort of tint I want, but he'll come to me to do it. Only thing is there's prolly no warranty. Still on the exy side but I've seen a couple of jobs he's done and looks pretty good. I'm still undecided about it though.

Hi guys
Ive been in the tinting industry for over 20 years. I started off in Sydney with a sol-ace shop but have been in Melbourne now for the last 10 years with a tint-a-car shop.
I sold out of these franchises and became an independent operator. The less overheads you have eg:rent, wages, franchise fees, the cheaper you can do the job.
I can tint just about any car in any tint for $150.Its not the tint your paying for its the labour.
If you guys need any info just ask or call me on 0419 515511.
Regards Brett

Just to let you know,we tint cars for the skyline club, wrx club,xr6turbo club.hsv club, MMCR club and 7 new car dealerships plus retail customers.
So it dosnt have to cost you $200 plus for a top job.
So a cheap job dosnt mean cheap window film.

Dont know how true this is but i have been told there is only one place that window tinting is made that is from the good ol U.S.A how true that is im not sure my mate also worked for tinter car on the side he did my wifes lancer $160 bargin. oh if your tinting start to peel dont blame the tint it takes time to do a good job having the glass spotless clean helps.
by the way had the darkest tint i could get on my car and got busted for it not happy copped a defect notice for it bloody cops nothing better to do end of rant.

There are 4 major film companys and they are all in the USA.
But there are others out there which we have not and never will try.
The big companys have been around for many years and have their films sorted out perfectly.
