Hmmm ok well hello people, went to fit the new UC front crossmember today but hit a few snags :( firstly i had to use a strap to pull the 2 lower arms together so that it would fit in between the chassi rails which wasnt toooo much drama but now i face 2 extra problems...

1. Went to put the bolt in the right lower arm thru to the chassis but the crush tube for the bush is extremely tight on the bolt! so i tried bashing it thru but it only moves like half a mm every time i hit it.... now i could sit there and hit it for the next 2 days n eventually get it thru but i dont like this idea... anyone got any suggestions?

2. Now this is the main problem! the holes dont line up! ok well i pretty much got the 2 lower arms which bolt to the chassis rail to line up... and the 2 bolts on the passenger side of the engine bay aint far off.. few mm... but the 2 on the drivers side are a fair wack off :( would this mean my crossmember or chassis is twisted?? the old x-member fell out pretty easily.. so yea anyone got any suggestions on this one...

if needed i can get pics etc..

Cheers
-Clint

Yeah something is amiss bigtime. Like you said either your chassis is bent or the crossmember. It should fit in very easy(well mine did anyway) . Have you noticed any repair work on the car?
going by what you said about the crush tube it sounds like the frfont end is way out of square with your car thats why the bolt is having a hard time going through.

Food for thought>
If the front end was in a hit directly from the front this would explain why the arms were wider at the rear and maybe why the top bolts dont line up with the chassis holes.

Time to get the tape measure out and check between them to see which one is out.
Mine was a walk in and easy bolt in.
