is there anywhere on the forum where i can find out about chassis and engine numbers and what the prefixs mean etc...

post up what numbers you have and within 1 hour you will have all the information you want in front of you.

oh thanks
its a lh 4door but on the rego it said its an original slr that came with a 308
chassis number ALH017342M

Cant tell you much from those numbers besides its a 74 LH and its not the original engine.
On the build plate next to engine it will say L31 if its an SLR 5000 and the VIN should start 8VD69 if its SLR, the T for 308 if its 5000. If its got and R its a 253.

As always, post the numbers from the 3 tags and the chassis number if you want a good id.
