Has anyone had experience using Penetrol. Has been around for years. Apparently helps paint self level and flow. Also good for protecting metal from rust a bit like fish oil. There is plenty of info if you google but i am looking for personal experience from people that have used it on the forum.

the only problem ive found with it is when adding it to lighter coloured enamel it has a tendancy to discolour the enamel left in the tin after a few months so i only add it to the paint in the pot.

I have previously used POR15, and apart from some areas that didn't come up too good, and one section where I thought I would test it's "hammer tough" claim with a light tap with a hammer that actually blistered, I can't fault it, however at $50 for 500ml's it aint cheap.
I rang the distributor today, and they advised that the "Penetrol Corrosion Inhibiting Primer" was best suited to my requirements and advised that I would have to buy it from a retailer. After contacting 7 of there retailers and being told that they would have to order it in and the minimum order would be 4 litres and I would have to wait two weeks, I rang the distributor back and they allowed me to buy it from them direct and pick it up today but made it clear that I would have to buy it from a retailer in the future. $28 for 1 Litre is bargain basement in my eyes if it works!
I prepped the car today and gave it one coat, it is very runny and layers very very thin, but I was advised to give it a second coat after 24 hours and then wait 7 days before hitting it with some paint to let it fully cure.
I will get some photo's up after I have applied the second coat.

I had this product mentioned to me yesterday, so did some research on the net last night and couldn't find any bad comments about it.
