Heyas,

Well firstly do u plan on relocating the coil overs inside the rails? or re mounting them in a similar position to stock location.
Personally ive done a mini tub with coil overs moved inwards and ive also done a squared off mini tub with springs and shocks moved inward but still outside the rail.
I recommend moving them inside the rails for more wheel space for starters.
With the squared off tubs i had a 14x265x50 in there but it was pretty tight.
Im currently doing another one with coil overs inside and stretched guards and can fit a 15x28x10.5 slick albeit fairly tight.

Cheers

Hey

I plan to move them inside th rails and add coil overs, have you got a some pics of inside the boot and underneath of your squared off tubs? and the finished result
how long did it take you?

Hi,

I got a few old pics here http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2040057
Shows the mounting with the boot floor removed...

I dont think i have any pics of squared off tubs...basically all u do is cut the tub in half and add a half piece off tub so its as close to the rail as possible..Then all i did was refab the upper shock mount..so i used stock springs and shocks.

As for coil overs inside...i personally try mount them as wide apart as possible for a little more stablility...I also mounted them vertical but have seen them mounted on angles. I fabbed a crossmember for between the rails with L shaped tags on the end to spread the load where its welded to the rail on each side.

I think i have some closer pics of the cross member and stuff somewhere...

Yep i want to do the same, but its not for straight line drag, which is why im a little concerned about having the coilovers mounted inside the rails, but then again there isnt much choice with big rubber, im hoping the car handles well with the coil overs mounted inside the rails.

True..

Whats the biggest rubber you can get with the coils moved over but not inside the rails? like a micro tub or something?

If you want to mount them inside and have some stability mount them angling out at the bottom. Watch your spring rate...Check this page out
http://www.mcdonaldb...ingtension.html

Kastin id say the biggest you will fit is a 265x50....Mounted on a 15x8 inch rim. You could get something larger in diameter but i dont know how low the car will sit.Another factor is your diff....A nine inch pinion is lower than say a banjo so you can lower the car more without the shaft hitting the floor.

Thanks, I'll get the thing back on 4 wheels first. Then I'll check the bank balance.
