hey guys i was just wondering if anyone had a photo or something of what the throttle linkages look like on the tripple su's . i was told that the strombergs use a single shaft that hooks to the throttle jobi behind the booster and the su's normally use a cable that you just hook somewhere in the middle of the manifold somewhere with a little bracket.
i dont no what im talkin about pretty much so if that makes sence to anyone any help would be appreciated.

cheers guys

cheers guys thats what i was looking for. just one more thing though behind the booster i dont no what u guys hav but i have a little arm thing that pulls across to the drivers side it just looks like tyhat wouldnt work with the way your throttle cable is directed to.

by the way thats a very tidy lc shane i like the fuel rail instead of having the block to direct the fuel it keeps it nice and clean.

thankx fellas

Here's my twin su setup in my LX. The same method can be adapted to tripples quite easily. I liked the ease of adjustment on genuine XU-1 linkages so I incorporated the same idea for the final link to the carbs on mine.

The twins are an interesting setup - how well do they perform???

I haven't been able to get them tuned right yet. I'm persevering unitl I make another set of bits to change to tripples. I tried them initially as I had seen twin SU setups used on many cars in old magazines (hoping for a performace/economy compromise). I realy need to profile the needles but my efforts would be wasted once I put the tripples on. As far as performance goes, they don't seem to provide the engine with enough fuel/air up top. Low to mid range performance is quite good though. The induction noise sure beats the sound of the holley I had previosly.

Ben,

The setup on mine is just 2 cables (accel / choke) that go straight through the firwall - no little arm. However, have a look at the orange and/or yellow xu1's here http://manny.homelin.../holdenday.html

Someone can correct me here - but I thought the 3 cables across the rocker are choke and the bar across the back is the accel? If this is right, perhaps your pedal is setup for the solid bar linkage rather than a cable?

Cheers,
Shane
