It is attached to the flat section of firewall near the wiper motor, there should be 2 holes still there for it.

thats the only tag on my car because it has a police number i suppose the others were removed when the new number was issued.

the reason i dont remember where it went was cause i took it off about 6 years ago lol!

The only problem with taking it off is that when you put it back on you will almost certainly have to use plain ordinary pop rivets and it just looks a little dodgy like that.
Possibly not of concern if its an "S" or the like..but it might get some attention when you go to sell it.

That said..someone here had original style rivets for sale..so you can still get them.

im not completely sure mate, but i do know police numbers are issued on cars where the original chassis numbers cannot be clearly seen.

my car was, when i bought it, engineered 350 chev and on the engineers report states that the car has a conversion number.

the number actually starts with convxxxxxxxxx
its all legal and has been registered in my name before.

Alright.. Ive finished my Pruing of this thread.

The reason i removed the offending posts was that they were NOT ON THE TOPIC.

A Question was asked. Some people chose to harass rather than to answer the question.

Harassment will not be tollerated on these forum and a note has been made of the users who did this.

Keep on the topic.
This thread will be locked if it goes off topic again.

Would you be allowed to fit the tag in the boot as I think early model porsche have them in the boot.

GtrBoyy: I highly doubt it as tags would need to be in the original position as far as i know.

Call teh RTA tech info line and ask them if thats what youve got planned!

Cheers.

I only typed that b/c a few years back we put them in the boot on my cousins charger which was a show car,the blue slip guy had no problems with it.The police never had a problem with it either though they only ever pulled us over to have a look at the car.
