V8 5.0 Litre
1976
Melbourne No. 5 Assembly line
LH.
Looks like an LH SL/R 5000 which was available till February 1976.
Colour seems to be Absynth Yellow, but I don't trust my source for the colour. Can anybody else confirm colour?

Mmm, would be curious to see that VIN too. Sure it's not an LH with the round headlight transplant? Also which plate are you taking the plate off, the ADR plate or the VIN? They are usually different.Funny, my Jan 76 SLR5000 is an LX

Some interesting info. I am aware of a SS hatch CHASSIS ALX000012A , built September 1975. Obviously built in Adelaide rather than Melb. Anyone know if the hatch prototypes were built in Adelaide? It would appear so.OK, My VIN is 8D69TFJ511721X and just for the record I used to own an LX SS Hatchback, I don't know it's VIN, but it's chasis number was ALX000037M and it was built in , wait for it........Nov 1975, factory 308 auto. I know these car were'nt released til March or feb 76, but having worked it the car industry for a long time, I know that cars are built a lot earlier than release dates for such reasons as looking for assembly line and tooling problems and just plain old Dealer stocks. i still wish I had that SS and it should be getting around the Western Suberbs of Melbourne.
