That was quick, well done GML-31

Lakeside

I said hey, do you remember
Where we used to sit
All them summer rubber - necks kept coming
To panel van the street
We just yacht club dancing
City girls were rich
I'm going to sneak out my window
At four in the morning
I'm going to meet them down on the beach

Chorus ~
Lakeside lakeside lakeside
Steal away hide away
Lakeside lakeside lakeside
I just can't wait babe
I just can't wait

I got terrific Torana
A green hand goin' to wave bye - bye
I got a CB shuffle and a dashboard muffle
Pilot's twitch my eye
I've seen them from the mallway
Supermarket spy
From the frozen goods section
The delicatessen
I've seen them racing by

Chorus

They're going to wallow in the swallows
Great puce hippo
Barbeque and blubber
Please don't show please don't show
They're going to steal my sand space
Out where the comperes go
You shoulda seen 'em in bathers
No hero no hero

I said hey do you remember
Going cruising for a nude
Spot - pickin' 'em, sand kickin' 'em
All the lousy and the lewd

Chorus +
Lakeside lakeside lakeside
Steal away hide away'
Lakeside lakeside lakeside
I just can't wait babe

Chorus ~ x 3

( fade )

Well done!!!

I for one could never understand the words to any of their songs ( the chorus' were OK but no clue with some of the versus ). James Ryene is unique.

Nobody ever knew what James was singing. Probably because he couldn't remember himself.

Aussie Crawl had some interesting lyrics, and most of them people couldn't understand with James singing.

Doesn't James mention 'mustang' in one of the songs too, but then again he could be singing anything that sounds like it !!!

Does anyone know what lakeside is about?

Someone told me years ago it was written in the lakeside camping area at Lake Eildon in Victoria.
