Nice cars guys, uncle has a HQ GTS 2 door, freakin sweet as car, 350 chev. Don't know the name of the colour, its not stock. He restored it a couple of years back after having it as a rolling shell for 20+ years. Hes never been happier =)
Im a fan of the HJ GTS coupe's. Anyone got figures on the numbers built of the various models and their GTS varients (not sure if "varients" is the right word, oh well).

I must post up some video of the 4 door.... does it do killer burnouts...
May consider selling (only to fund my Torana projects) $40k for the 2 door and $20k the 4 door

prices will start as low as 5k for a pig of a shell with some form of tags and not much else....averages around the market are in the 40k ranges...high end is closer to the 200k range...this pricing is a broad statement for across the range of 2 door monaros in all models from hk thru to hx...

Agreed with Torunya...
Im a fan of the HJ GTS coupe's. Anyone got figures on the numbers built of the various models and their GTS varients (not sure if "varients" is the right word, oh well).
943 x HJ coupes built. Of these 606 x GTS and 337 x LS. LS with L20 (202) is probably the rarest coupe variant with 81 produced.
The rarest Monaro build is a probably HQ XW8 manual (350 4 door) with 54 examples only built (just over 158 autos). The total known of the XW8 is 212 but this is a minimum build since the last of the Elizabeth HQ records are missing and this overlaps auto 350 4 door production by a short time so there was probably a couple more hence the LS below is, well see text below.
Probably the rarest single model Monaro is an L30 (350) optioned HQ 1237 (ie LS coupe) with 213 made. This makes Ozbox's LS350 a bargain, particularly since it's silver with red trim and a delete vinyl roof car. Sounds nice doesn't it?

Now running 350 & alloy case Muncie (M20 I think) rest pretty much stock.
Original colour is Lone O Ranger, it was a real tatty red colour when I got it
but its Silver/Grey ATM coz nobody was spraying cars loud colours in the late
80s, Sh!t just realised the paints near on 21 year old.
Might go back to Orange but its up to the nephew as its his in a couple of years so
its not for sale. But minus the engine & trans as I want to put that into a LX hatch.

that & the 5.8 air cleaner assembly are the only ford bits
left after swapping out the 9".
But everyone says "nice Gun Metal Grey"..... hate that.
Yeah the Tri lights another leftover from the 80s.

HT 253 GTS Monaro, white with black stripes, blue interior
HT 350 Bathurst Monaro, sebring orange, black with orange/black houndstooth trim..All cars were driven daily and really stood out but took a lot of getting used to.Great memorys. What are they worth now?Id say you need about 50K to buy something decent.Even then ive seen em go up to 60K.Bathurst ones are over the 100K mark.20-25K for something that "OK".Its your best bet to buy a complete running car as parts are very expensive and hard to find.I still cant believe the prices as i recall people practically begging me to buy theirs back in the day. They all required a little work and rust is a big thing to look out for.The rear quarters were pratically designed to rust out under the 1/4 windows and finding clean cars was so hard i recall. They look awsome when restored though and ill be helping my mate whos kept his Bathurst 327 come rebuild time.It wasnt that long ago he offered it to me for 12K complete and registered.Lucky for him he had a change of heart.
Tell your friend to join their local Monaro club, thats the best way to find cars and find out more info etc.

For the purists i suppose they were named that and that alone
Still a Monaro in my eyes and havn't met any one yet who differed
Proud to own one of the last of the two doors
Had a HK 327 in bright blue metallic mid eighty's with a 400 in it -- still regret selling it
Great colour, but the favorite would be lakeside green in the early monaro's.
