i have some bad rust in the door sills.
is this easily fixed
bog or surgery
it has eaten through in a couple of places
i am thinking of putting in stainless sills anyway (do these go over the existing panel work or do they replace the existing sills)
thanks

not terrably hard to fix sills, easyest way is to cut old one out and take it to a local metal fab shop and get them to roll you up a new one. take it home, cut it to fit and weld it in. if you have a bit of skill with a mig and a bit more skill with bog then it's no wakkas. i have done this on a few cars.

That would have to be cheaper than the ~$90 Rare Spares wants for new LH - UC sills.

yeah i had seen the repo skins they have. had not thought of gettin new ones rolled. it would work out around the same price between the repo skins and getting some rolled wouldn't it.

last ones i got done were $40 a side...but i know the blokes.
but yeah, about $10 worth of steel each side and the rest in labor. go the slightly thicker 1.5mm black iron instead of the 1mm stuff they usualy use for pannels, lasts longer and is easyer to work with /weld ect.
