Heres a pic of a Torana - Dealer Product Presentation Kit my brother found. It contains 2 rolls of positive film with pics of a LC GTR and Monaro etc. 2 records 33-1/3 rpm, "the premier man" & "know your trimatic", a bunch of sales advice for the salesman. I have since found 2 rolls of film for the HB Torana and its Nasco accessories along with a projector to show the film strips. I have seen the same kit on ebay recently but I'm not sure how complete it was.

I have had the majority of the torana images professionaly scanned and I'm in the process of fixing up all the blemishes (film deteriation)

Dave, the came out in both black and the silver and that may have been because of what factory they came out of.

I have quite an extensive collection of original magazines of that era and they show both colours.

That rim looks silver but is black speckled with silver like mine eg

Posted Image

The speckling will vary depending on who was doing the spraying of the rim, what mood he was in and probably what day of the week it was
You will also get more speckling on one part of the rim as it may have been sprayed from only one direction.

Mine have a relatively even amount of speckle on them.

There is also conjecture as to what colour the rim was suppose to be ie black or a dark grey. Mine appear to be black but are a dark grey which is Dulux GMH 71-72 Grey Metalic Shade No. 13384 and have an aluminium speckle.

I know Fiv's book says black but that is what I have been led to believe it should be after a lot of research and info from an old spray painter who now runs a paint supply shop. When it all boils down to it, who gives a stuff.

Regards..........................Barry

AFAIK ALL LC & LJ GTR & GTR XU-1 have 120 mph (or metric equivalent) speedos.

The lesser models get the 100 mph speedo.
