Does anyone know what needs to be done to solve axle hop in the rear end in an lc?
I have running king springs low, monroe gt shocks, 3.55 locker, 13x6, standard rubber bushes.
Thanks guys

I'd be looking at the bushes first.
Are you sure its not clutch shudder?
Does it have mechanical clutch linkage?

If you are getting wheel tramp whilst leaving the start line etc. Boxing the lower trailing arms will remove the flex that may be getting.

Im sure it isnt clutch shudder!
It caused a broken axle at the start line at the burnout stage.
I thought about boxing the trailering arms, it would be a smart move.
The car has brand new springs & shocks.
What about the tires? compound? 13" 215x50

I did notice your LC axel tramping at the start line during burnouts actually. Didn't realise you busted and axel. What was your best time?

Yeah steve, pulled the diff apart today, snapped one axle and twisted the other.
Best time 16.1 and that was hitted the brakes before the finish line so i didnt brake out. Dial in at 16. I reckon it would of gone into the high 15's for sure.
So, im thinking trail arms, tires or maybe shocks at the moment???
What else could cause this axle hopping?
Thanks guys

The pinion angle of the diff can also contribute to axle hop. What else could cause this axle hopping?

Pinion angle normally only changes if the ride height has been altered. Generally, axle tramp is caused by a weak spring or shocker. Worn bushes could also be a problem.

King Springs, A mate put a set of brand new king springs in his LC GTR, Axel tramped straight away, pulled them out and put Lovell springs in and it was fine. I put his Kings springs in the rear of my LC and it started axel tramping, I went to lovell springs aswell and it was fine.
Im also running Koni adjustable shocks which are great, Haven't had any problems. Only Traction!!!!
Cheers

You could pump your tyres up more.
The shocks are not matched to your springs...either a softer spring or a stiffer shock.

I am running King Springs and Koni adjustables. I don't get axel tramp, but then it is just a little stock 173. I am guessing that might be different spring rates.
