Guys, I was given when I bought my LX, along with the rest of the stuff, a set of Motorvator extractors. I was wondering if these are any good? To me, they looked like they were press bent, correct? Would they be an improvement over the twin cast headers or should I get myself a mandrel bent set such as Pacemakers or Genie? Does anyone know the primary, secondary and outlet measurements of the Motorvators?

Another question I have is how much are they worth, if anything? Sorry I dont have any pics as they are in storage 1500kms away, but I remember what they were like. They were in very good condition, no cracks or repairs, welds looked very good, face plate very good, recently blasted and painted white, Motorvator plate fully intact etc.

How much can I expect to pay to get a set of these (any of the above mentioned) extractors HPC coated?

Thanks for your help.

dont think motorvators are the best brand never used them myself but have been told to steer clear by other people would definatly be an advantage over standard headers but personally id go out and get a decent set of pace makers or genie

from what Ive seen with Genie gear, their old stuff was good quality and well made, newer stuff started tp gp downhill a bit (last ten years)

But has picked up again in the last 3 or 4 years

Hey,
had a set of Motorvator extractors on the HG Monaro I used to have,
they seem to have good flow,
and nice note.

Cheers guys.
mr5000 - Since posting this, I've read the same - that they are not the best. I was thinking that the press bends would constrict flow.
big chris - Any extractors would have a nice note if there was nothing bolted to them lol. Thanks for the reply though.

So I guess that leaves the question: Genie or Pacemakers?
Genie offer 2 tri-y sets for the LX:
#92E: 1.5" prmary, 2" secondary, 2.25" outlet
#88E: 1.5" primary, 1.75" secondary, 2.5" outlet - whats the advantage of these, if any?

Pacemaker offer two sets also:
PH5005: tri-y: 1.5" prmary, 2" secondary, 2.25" outlet
PH5027: Tuned design dual outlets: 1.5" primary, 2" outlet - have seen these on eBay for $417, from memory.

Can someone explain the advantage of a 1.75" secondary over a 2" secondary, please? And possibly recommend which set to use?
Please excuse my ignorance, thanks for the advice guys.

My guess would be higher gas flow so better scavenging, better for low end response. Bigger ones would be better for higher revving applications.
