As we all love/hate a tragic car story particularly ones where they were once salvagable as projects i thought i'd share some pics of an odd property near my place here.

Its an odd place which seems like an empty block of land with a fenced off shed with as you can see some sad looking LC/LJs which im guessing were stored as parts cars or future projects (not much good now).

I wont reveal the address/whereabouts of these as a courtesy to the owner, i've tried to find out who owns it but with no luck, So if you do know or are reading this and do own them, perhaps these cars might be able to be saved with some effort which im sure someone would be willing to give.

first one which i think was probably the pick of the bunch, LJ 2dr in a nice factory colour, was more complete last time i stopped by but the theives and vandals appear to be inflicting more carnage on the poor girl.

next is an LC 2door which looks like it copped a bit of a hit and has been stripped of some parts but still might be usable to the keen restorer

Heres an LC and an LJ sedans both have copped some accident damage and of course vandals and theives over time, i'm guessing there were meant to be parts cars.

and here is a picture of the place with the poor toranas awaiting a miserable fate..........sad that the shed isnt bigger to accomodate them.....makes you wonder whats actually parked in there though

Of course theres odd parts and engines lying around in the grass and the theives have cut a hole in the fence but I wasnt going to enter as its not my place and im positive the owner wouldnt appreciate it.....so mate if your reading consider doing something with them before they submit to mother earth, either get them under cover or sell them to someone who will fix them :spoton:

Here's a website with similar cars that will make an american muscle car enthusiast cry

Pete, I managed to trace the owner of these cars a couple of years ago, he seemed rather "ecentric" when i spoke to him. He insisted his daughter had crashed one of them & he was going to fix it with parts from the other cars.
He went on to say he had setup "mantraps" to injure people who broke in to the compound. When i asked what was in the shed, he changed the subject!!
Maybe i should try again, they look a lot worse than when i last saw them.

Mantraps are illegal. So why aren't women outlawed?

I knew if anyone would know it would be you Andrew, Like i said im not silly enough to walk onto other peoples property without their permission, might explain the vandalism perhaps angry thieves with rabbit traps wrapped around their ankles???

Its a shame to see them like this, ive been living where i am almost 5 years and in that time i've seen more parts stripped off them (im guessing thieves) and more vandalism and rust occur.

When i first saw the Purple LJ it was a reasonably complete restorer but now i think the rust will have weakened them substantially, but never know i guess.

Interesting story anyway!!! Is the owner a local to the area? a lot of the bigger propertys around here are getting sold off and subdivided, hell even Maccas is building a new store 500metres away!!! Would hate to see the guy moved on and forgotten about them or even worse passed away and nothing would happen to them!!.

That is a goldmine. Even if they are all stuffed it is still a goldmine to think that someone drove that out of the Dealership proud to show off there new Torana to have them end up like that. Lucky i don't have a garage or it would be full of old Holdens that i would'nt let rust away.
