In our hz ute we have done the Efi 5ltr install and all is goin well drive's now and is all done painted etc etc etc EXCEPT at a hundred cruisin it will pull the ECu light Also does it when u giv it a boot full from the lights and hold into it.
So pulled Codes
Code that comes up is Vechicle Speed Sensor- Everything that relates to this code mentions Electronic dash's fuse's etc but of course the HZ doesn't have any of this, btw its auto t700.
Anyone had this? Between the auto and factory speedo cable there is an adaptor with three or four wires runin into the ecu could this be at fault or fualty?

Is it a VN or VP ECU and standard Memcal? Is it a 2 or 10 pulse per rev speed sensor?
Standard VN/VP use a 10 pulse speed sensor and the dash converts it to 2 pulse for the ECU. VR on ECU accepts 10 pulse input.
Either can be modified in the Memcal to change the ppk constant to suit.

Its i think Vp, well the hole drive line is out a Vp clubsport. We have two ecu's one with an after market memcal (so we were told) And one standard. So what settin th ecu light off? can i get it setup with out the VSS side of it? What does it control anyway since we have hz dash etc, i assume its so the ecu knows what the auto is doin.

dude my m8 was having the same problem with his vr commodore and the light kept coming on but he didnt bother about doing anything about it not to long after that he lost 1st and drive, all it was, was some little thingies in the box that he changed him self, just dropped the pan and had to undo a little plate that had star type hex key screws in it and they were inder there i will find out what there called and get back to ya, but if ya know of a shop that has a a computer go see em and get em to plug it into your computer and it will tell ya straight away was wrong, but my guess is it is the box and it mught be on its way out....

Hey mate
These computer are a bit older then that u can only pull codes thru a flashin light, i have a computer at my work that i can plug anythin into, but anythin pre90's bascially, if its somethin in the auto il be stoked as we are puttin a shift kit in it asap. Other ideas?

sounds like speed sensor is shagged, most people have the same prob when doin this conversion and not putting a speed sensor in, my mates hg does it hes running 304/355 injected vn computer and muncie gearbox it throws the codes all the time the computer dosent know how fast the car is going and trips the code hope this helps
