Hi Guys!

Just wondering of anybody can tell me if there is a paint code for the black outs on a LC GTR XU1 headlight bezel ?

If not I am assuming it is a matt black of some sort, has anybody successfuly painted theirs ?? if so what paint do you recomend ??

cant help with the paint code, but i can with how to paint it.

first thing i would do is remove teh old paint, paint stripper would be best in this case. next, mask up where you do'nt wany any paint. now get a decent scouring pad and rub over where you didn't mask, sthis will scuff the surface enough to let the primer bite in. use some 1k etch primer (protec makes good stuff), you can eather give it one light coat and then a few coats of 1k primer filler (again the protec stuff is really good) or just give it three to four coats of etch. next sand it back till its smooth with 400grit wet and dry paper. sand the edges where you masked a fair bit, so the primer is almost non existant there, otherwise you will be able to see layers if you look closley after you are done. if you want you could do the first mask a little bit in and at this stage remask a tiny bit further out. i wouldent do it this way but it owuld work. then paint your black over that.

should look schmick and stay there for all of eternity.

I have succesfully painted my grille and surrounds with VHT Polyurethane Wheel Paint Part Number SP-183 Satin Black. It is to suit alloy -Steel wheels and is chip resistant. It finishes in a beautiful Satin finish very close to original. I have tried heaps of paints and this one is by far the closest.
