hey guy's, bit of a joint questoin here but here i go.

i'm looking at getting a few things fabricated from aluminium. i have a copule of contacts so far so i'm right there, but i need designs.

first up will be a drop tank for my torana. im going to relocate the muffler, so it will run between the two chassis rails, as wide as i can fit in between them. i'm looking for around 100l without going to much lower than standard.

i was intending to get it made from 2mm aluminium, will this be thick enough??

i also want a baffle or two, will one going down the middle north south do or will i need more?? say two north south and one east west? or just two north south? it will be for mostly spirited street driving, occasional strip and track use.

i will be using the standard fuel sender (convenience) but running fuel pickups from the back of the tank. i will be having a bit of 10mm aluminium welded where im putting the pickups so i can put a fitting in there safley. i was going to run one 1/2" line from the tank to my surge tank. would i be better off putting this strait out the bottom, middle of the back of the tank, or having my master build a small box down from the bottom of the tank and put the line into that??? i rarley run the tank under 1/2 full so i'm thinking just strait in the tank will do??

the tank will be mounting like a standard lj tank, with flanges off the sides. do you think some straps will be needed to help support it?

next is a surge tank. these can be purchased fairly cheaply (round $130 from vpw) but i'll get a quote anyway.

how big should this be?

while reading up on dry sump systems, i saw that the tanks had the top fitting in on an angle so that it poored the oil in agains the side of the tank and made it swirl around, which helped with cavitation. should i do this with the surge tank?

i know i will need one inlet (1/2"), two outlets (one 3/8 for the carbs and one 5/16" for the nitrous) and one line runnin back to the tank, say 5/16". have i overlooked anything? it will be fed by a carter 100gph pump, and i will have another one of these hooked up for the nitrous (to come on when i activate the nos). the carbs will be fed by a small block chev mechy pump.

i assume it will be best to have the surge tank at aroudn the same height as the fuel tank?

next is a rad overflow bottle, again you can buy these fairly cheaply but i will get a quote.

how big does it have to be for andra?? a litre should do yes?

and i will only need one line in from the rad and a normal radiator cap for correct operation, or am i missing something?

last but not least is a rocker cover breather/catch tank.

i will be running two lines from two pcv valves to this tank, and then venting it to the atmosphere through a filter in the tank.

how big does it have to be for andra/cams?? 3.5 litres for cams isn't it?

anything i have to look out for?

cheers for any help with this stuff guys.
