Uploded a couple, I can upload a lot more if you really want but I don't know if you'll learn much. I think most of them are 17s rather than 18s. None of them really look very good. The nicest executions of big wheels on a box Torana are with flares. You can put anything in the rear end and dump it if you tub it, but at the front it will always sit reasonably high. So unless you really like the 'dumped in the arse' look, go for an inch or two smaller on the front :)

2wild, that's a nice looking car you've got there!
18's are about as big as you could go an a Rana before it starts looking silly imo. I've never seen one with 19's but that would be pushing it I reckon.
Here's one with 22's:

Kinda looks like it's wearing clown shoes to me.

GAMBLA is the look i am going for but w3ith different rims.
Not sure how Nathan got the stance of his 17's looking so good at the front but mine was with the aid of 2" drop stubs

Depends on how you do your tubs but It doesnt really allow you to 'dump' it further. My tubs still have bump stops in standard location but the adjustable suspension gives better adjustment over the standard rear spring heights

Gamblas look like they have a fair share of neg camber and they sit well inside the guards. Next two obviously sit high in the front, and I wouldn't trust the stance of the UC-LH showcar... it may have never been at full lock lol

GAMBLA has definately pulled it off though...

This one's always been my favourite sedan. Just looks tough and simple.

BTW, does anyone have any more pics of it? I only have a couple from the Ebay listing.

I may be wrong but they look like 16's to me. 17's at the most.

I"ve only seen it once, zoomed strait into it.

Think he was selling at one stage, i was pretty keen on buying it (wanted it when you were selling but didnt have funds at the time) but he wanted a fair bit to much considering i knew what he payed :P.

But yeah, not sure what happened to it from there, whether it sold or not.

Havnt seen or heard of it in about two months

Was a beautiful car in the flesh though. Regret not snapping it up when you were selling :(

Cheers.

I think they are 17"s, maybe even 16"s. I agree it's a great looking car, I only have the four photos from the eBay add too

EDIT: lol I didn't realise that you just grabbed the link from my photobucket!

I think 17 would be as big as I'd want to go
Especially if you intend to drive it
Big wheels with skinny rubber bands tend to be uncomfortable for actual drving
Not to mention clearance issues

I see American Racing wheels are available in the "GTS" style in 17's .... looked at some today and they would be the go for me I think
Longbeach customs ones are twice the price (nearly)

I think I'd rather spend the money on brakes and suspension than wank factor

Datto is spot on about the uncomfortable factor. Even 17's are harsh. I have to go slow over most bumps etc and ppl say its not low but its bloody harsh if i go over at the speed limit. I paid 700 each for my american racing 17x8's and 750 each for 17x9.5's

wouldnt it be more the profile that creates the harshness not the rim size.
I have 235/45/17 and they are fine. a lot of work to get a decent stance though!

Yes, that is correct, though as you no doubt already know, the profile of the tyre has to be reduced as the rim diameter increases. So to fit some 18's under an LX, 40 or even 35 series rubber is required, thus creating the harsh ride.
Ride harshness would, I think, also be determined by what shocks are run and whether the car is lowered or not.
And I believe that ZR rated rubber has even harder sidewalls, yes?

And Im with Mr Dattoman on spending money on the brakes and suspension first. Though tyres are one thing I never skimp on, they are the only thing keeping your car on the road.

This one is flared, but I like it. Contrary to popular opinion of course...

I also agree with Datto
no point having big wheels with piss ant little brakes behind but if you already have big brakes etc whats wrong with 18's?

my plans are for 225/40 or 45/18 for the front and 335/30/18 on the back
front suspension has raised height springs with 2" drop stubs and Koni adjustables
back suspension is fully adjustable coil overs

anyone think this would be too harsh?
