Hi guys I am looking for your opinion on early style heads. I have a stock stroke 308 and I want to stay with early style heads. Which heads are the best for porting, red, blue, black, L34 or brock. This will be a street car which I am looking to drag race as well. I am looking for 12 sec quarters.
Thanks

Best early style heads

I ve heard the brock B cast heads are good, Im only using old red heads, with good HP results, guess it depends on who is doing the mods on them, unless you know what your doing, I think they can be over done.

I have heard you cannot put hardened seats and L34 valves into anything after red heads.
VC-VK B cast heads though for best factory heads pre VL EFI.

Hi guys, thanks for the replys. I've been told that the early non-pollution red heads were the best wons to get to modify. Was just wondering why the non pollution heads were best.
Thanks

^ prolly cause they don't have an EGR port.
As above, late heads will need the least mods.
