On the previous forum there was a link to a test involving several fuel additives and their ability to increase the octane rating on unleaded fuel . I think that Nulon Pro Strength was No 1 and Methyl Benzine (Toluene) came in No 2. If anyone has the link could they post it again here.

Thanks

Hi,

I may be wrong, but Toluene isn't an Octane booster.

From memory, it appears that several years ago, some unscrupulous Petrol Stations were mixing Toluene with Unleaded fuel . There was a big write up in the Newspapers about it, as Toluene is cheaper than Unleaded fuel and Petrol Stations were mixing it to increase their profits. Something like mixing Kerosene with Diesel to increase profits.

Kind regards
George

My mistake, as I am very surprised that Toluene is an Octane Booster.

Thanks to an earlier post, I read an article in www.gtatech.com/news_au_articl.html

Kind regards
George
