Hey every1...
its a bit off topic coz its a f*rd laser but i need some help. Ive got an 85 ford laser 1.5 manual hatch as a daily driver. Last night i was cruzing around and dropped it hard into second around a corner. I dont usually give it a hard time but did on this corner. There was a bit of a thump but nothing too full on. Theres is a problem with the car now... when driving it in 1st and 2nd gear it makes a huge thump when changin gears. Take off is perfectly smooth as anything but when i start to accelerate the gear stick begins to get pushed backwards and then soon as the clutch is pressed in there is a huge thump! felt through the whole car. What could it be? It only does it in 1st and 2nd.. the higher the revs when changing gears the bigger the thump!!!

PLEASE HELP!!!

cheers

Lapsy.. I'd be looking at engine mounts or gearbox mounts... sounds like a problem when you accelerate and the torque of the engine pushes everything around.

OH.. and this is in the wrong section.. ive moved it to general help tech area!

Best of luck!
