Hi everyone, just finished doing a facelift on my gauge cluster. Did it with carbon fibre & led lights. Tell me what you think. Here is the link: https://cache.gmh-to...ch/P1010011.jpg

Looks sweet!

Would you mind telling me about the carbon fibre material you used? Often people say carbon fibre and they're just talking about a coating or something that I don't know much about (I work with CF a fair bit). Is yours a sheet of CF stuck onto a honeycomb core?

Where did you pick up that panel and what sorta costs are involved in that? The carbon fibre I use doesn't look nearly as defined as the pattern on yours.

That looks great!!
How did you go with using the LED's as lights for indicators etc?

Hi guys, Heath i cheated a bit and used carbon fibre contact, but i am happy with the end product. The whole jobe probably cost me around $80 (CF contact, 3mm sheet steel & led lights) but obviously the job gets expensive when you are using autometer gauges. Tiny, the led's work really well for the tell tail lights. They are nice and bright compared to the normal lights i used to have.

Blown: Nice stuff, Did you have to use a resistor before the LED or are they just 12V LEDs?

Does anyone know whether LEDs are legal for tel tales? I reckon theyre a great idea and i want to incorporate them when i ro-do my dash shortly!

Thanks!

Ahhh the beauty of getting all of those materials for at discount prices or for free...

Maybe I should try doing an SL/R Cluster in carbon fibre :o Now that would be a bloody big challenge, but if I managed to pull it off it'd be pretty damn nuts!
