Other than changing to a dual diaphragm V8 booster, is there anyway i can improve my lack of vacuum after 2 pumps of the pedal at lights. 308 has a nice streetable lift cam, but pedal is hard as a rock very quickly.
308 in a LH, still running the 6cylinder booster, unfortunately no-one has been able to answer me straight up about some V8 models having 6 cylinder boosters fitted. Car was orig 202 auto.
Cheers

Fitting the bigger booster will make it worse
It needs more vaccuum to work you see
What you need is either a seperate tank to store vaccuum for when you need it (cheapish to make)
or
An electric vaccuum pump that supplies on demand ( $1000 )

Ok, any chance you can be more specific on the vacuum tank setup thats kinda cheapish. Are they my only options as a daily driver car.

Easy way
3" exhaust tubing
Weld an end cap on both ends
2 holes in the top with 90 degree barb fittings
1 x inline check valve in line from engine to tank.
Other line from tank to booster
This should give you a couple of extra pumps
Hide it wherever you can

Is this a legal setup, does anybody have any pics of this type of setup.

or you could use an alternator off a diesel engine that incorporates a vacuum pump on it....like on the 4BD1 fitted to landrover 110's...there would have to be heaps of others and I am willing to bet some bosch types as well.

Alot of diesel vehicles such as hilux and landcruiser have reserve tanks too...... although abit small
Its just one of your options
Alternator mounted vaccuum pumps are fine. But considering your going to spin it alot harder than they do a diesel , and you generally need an oil supply, and they can be bulky and very expensive to rebuild , I'd go the cannister first..... then the elec pump if really needed.
