G'day All

Where here are some more pics from the same album as the rest except the rally photos.

This is Barry Sharp's V8 Falcon. I believe he also later went on to race a V8 Jag.

Another shot of Barry's mean machine but this time with a bit less drive off the back wheel.

When I was a young lad I went to Warwick Farm and Oran Park to watch these classic cars go round but back then, they were just the car of the time  like this Fffffford Anglia. Most of them were powered by the GT Cortina 1600 motor or the twin cam motor.

Today's generation would call them a "Harry Pottter " car

AND what do you need with a small mini  a small tool box of course :tease:

Hope the driver wasn't too tall :<_<:

Regards .... Barry

My first 2 cars was a mini 850 and then mini deluxe 1000 of which I both hotted up :spoton:

This was down at Wollongong and a fella by the name of Phil Barnes use to do all of the work on my minis.

Now Phil was about 6ft 2" in the old measurements and he raced a Purple Cooper S that was nicknamed the "Purple People Eater"

Phil's driver's seat was pushed all the way back so that it touched the edge of the rear seat front support. Certainly looked gangly getting in and out of the mini

Search found Phil/Doug Chivas had a DNF at Armstrong 500 1965 (Bathurst) in a Cooper S,
1964 DNF Peter Cray / Phil Barnes,
Came 2nd in 1971 Falcon XY GTHO with Bob Skelton
Came 11th in the 1969 Touring Car Championships in his Cooper S

Great memories :spoton:

Regards .... Barry
