The LH side of the steering rack in my UC decided to start clunking etc so on inspection i found movement around the rack under the dust boot which i assume was the bush flogged out no problems got another rack being rebuilt anyways and thats going to go in this weekend now it gets weird the clunking noise has stopped and theres no movement in t rack anymore anyone had this happen? going to change rack anyway since it looks like the original item

Perhaps the tie rod has turned a little, or some oil has worked its way into the joint? Either way you know its not going to stay quiet for long
