hi all
ive been reading up on the paint codes and noticed that for mint julep it has code 568-17779, but my car has HJ5978 for the paint code, which still is mint julep. why is this so? did they change codes after a certain point in production? or do i have some super rare bathurst special colour that means i can sell my "S" model for the price of an A9X????? :tease:
my car is a 6/77 lx.
cheers y'all

For some unknown reason they just do it, particularly GMH.....look at the Commodore colour Heron White, for ages it was just code J073 on the VZ etc now on the current models it's 679F, same colour, same paint formula, same name. Just one of those things.

I thought there was one code from Holden, and one from the paint manufacturer?

It might be a Berger paint code, there is a mention of 5978 in the Dulux paint book alongside the other code 1C055. Any chance of a pic of the plate?

cheers Leroy

I have the same for my UC. It is aztec silver which was also used for early commodores, so its probably one paint code for the UC, and another for the commodore. Maybe yours was used for another car?

I'm pretty sure I found a third one for Mint Julep when I was getting ready to buy top coat. Always just thought it was 'one of those things' too :P
