I saw that Starlet race an EF/EL Fairmont and they both buggered up the launch and didn't cut very good times at all, but I know it's pretty hot. I never saw it do another pass. What kinda E.T. does it pull?

I couldn't believe the quality of the vehicles. Ever second car was running 9s or 10s! Bloody unbelievable

LXV8 was getting up and moving by the time he did his third pass, how good was that launch! haha

Cheers

Yeah what a great night, heaps of cars to watch. Had heaps of fun. Happy with how the car went and now I know what changes I need to make to the setup, should be running a bit quicker again next time I take it out. They didn't even check me for a cage, I could have run 10's all night without even getting looked at. Though I was asked at scruiteneering how fast the car had run before. I told the bloke this is the first time I had run it with this motor but it run a 14.80 with he 253 in it. He just old me to see how I went and to make a few changes to suit my ET next time I come.

Really wanna see some photos up. Anyone know how long it usually takes fullboost or calderpark.com to get photo's up?

Good to see everyone down there and hope to see everyone at the next one on the 4th of december. Gonna try and run down there then.

Cheers -Mish

Hey Mish,
I think i seen ur car parket beside the scrutineering for a while, was that yours ? This was my first meeting and I was a bit disappointed as i only got one run in. I got there right on 5 and lined up in all the lines i was supposed to and didnt get on the track till after 9. I emailed Calder last week asking if it was possible to arrive earlier than 5 so i had a better chance at getting a few runs in but was told no, then found out on the night that gates were open even before 4:00. There were 250 cars there and seemingly not enough prepared staff to cope with numbers like that. Im going to Heathcote on Friday, its much better value for my $65.

Yeh Findusparker, That was my car near scruitennering.
I asked an official if had to do paperwork first or scruiteneering first and he said i could do eiher. So i just lned up for scruitennering.
when I rocked up to the front they asked for my paperwork. So I had to leave my car off to the side of scruiteneering while I went
and lined up to get my paperwork. I got to Calder at 2:30 and was like 10th in line, didn't get on the track ill after 7pm.
They started letting cars in at 4:15. I knew it would have been that busy and was expecting to get 3 passes, ended up getting
4 runs in for the night.

Your car looked tough as. What's your setup and what were u gettong timewise? I would have come said hi, but it wasn't till I read ur post I seen a pic of ya car. So u got there at 2:30 and just waited in line till they let u in at 4 ?? If that's the case I have nothing to complain about. Is this the norm ? I mean, it seemed that every compeditor I spoke to had nothing good to say about the organisation etc at calder.

Thanks findusparker.
This is not usually the norm at Calder. I have been there a few times before it shut down and u just rock up and enter at like 5pm or what ever.
This being the opening night since it closed down there were lots more people than normal.
And yeh, Rocked up at 2:30 and just sat in line talking crap with everyone. Not too bad.
My car is running a 383 Chev with TH350, 5300stally, 3.55 diff gears.
The first time I did the whole track on full power I run a 10.94 @ 122mph.
Which car were you in? How did ya go down the 1/4?
I'm thinking of heading to heathcote too, I'f i do decide ill let ya know.

Hey again,
It looked like a street car, was it ? R u happy woth that time ? That's very impressive. The 3.5s would hold u back a bit yeah ? I've gone the 4:11s which is good for the track but pretty impractical for everything else :) I am running a 355 with a TH350 too and its one and only run was 11.61. I got my best 60ft of 1.62 in the process and 7.39 1/8. My car is pictures on the prev page but I had black interceptors on it.. The best part of calder was the amount of Torries that were there, real nice. If u go to heatcote let me know, I'd love to see your setup.

Yeh completly street driven, well was till it got EPA'd and canaried the other week... In the process of getting it cleared at the moment.
Stoked with the 10.94 first time out of the garrage, gotta make a few changes yet.
Think my 60ft times were only 1.58 or something like that... just about same as your's. Think going the 4.11's will help improve this quite a bit.

Hey Mish, congrats on the ten !! Like you said, you can only go faster !

The 1.58 60' isn't too bad. I run 1.60's at best, you have me covered in ET but I have run 123MPH.

What was your half track time ?? 7.00 ??

Great night at Calder on Friday guys, I had a ball just kicking back and watching endless amounts of 9 and 10 second cars, it was crazy!

I posted a few pics on another forum, mainly of LXV8... rather than re-post everything, here's the link:

Thanks Mish, you are considerably faster than me to half track, then I seem quicker in the top half.

I take it you have a 3 speed box ?

Seems to reinforce my need for a new torque converter.

Thanks heaps for sharing, I appreciate it.

Yeah struggler, TH350 for me. I think my tire pressures could have been too low therefore creating to much rolling resistance in the top end and not gaining as much mph... As Calder was calder and busy as always i didn't play around with anything, rather just have a couple of passes. Going to head up to heathcote soon to do a bit of testing.
