Feel free to post events where we can see the mighty Torrie on the Track, especially if you are a Forum Member and your racing.

Not exactly historic.....
BUT..
1st round of the NSW sprint series Oran Park GP circuit Sunday 9th April (this sunday)
I'll be there in the Revamped Torrie...
Bit of a suck it and see exercise though as I have changed/rebuilt many things since the car was last raced so I don't really have a baseline..
Anyway should be a good day and a chance to do some laps and collect some set-up data..
Come say Hi if you are there...

NSW #26 Orange/black LJ XU-1.

Cheers Greg..

Well a fairly decent sort of a day, with no panel damage and no off track excursions... :spoton: Had around 90 entries for the day so track time was limited and the meeting ran a little slow at times. Still the NSWRRC did and excellent job under the circumstances.
I'm still coming to grips with the new brakes and don't quite trust them fully yet, so only pulling 7/10th's in the braking dept.
Don't know why... but something made me put on a 18mm rear sway bar to try...
VERDICT.... 2 thumbs down. Very taily and nervous over the dogleg.
:fool:
But the upside is...
ran times that would have put me on the 2nd row at a Biante round.... :spoton: All the more pleasing was that I only had the "little" engine in the car . So VERY pleased with the result!
The bad news... Valve train damage and a suspected bent valve.
Still it did hang on till the finish line to go pop!
So guess I'll be down the shed changing cylinder heads through the week, nothing good on TV anyway...

Cheers Greg..

Just a quick update...
Wasn't a bent valve ... just a head gasket...
Totally blew out the fire ring on #5...
So to summarize.. went 1.24.5secs on 5 cylinders...
I'm Rapt!!!!
Bring on the next run, can't wait to see what she will do with 6 pot's firing and a good stand on the brake pedal. :spoton:

Cheers Greg..
