I finally got my 308 started today!!! After having it for a year and having to take the motor in and out repeatidly cos the g'box wouldnt fit then there wasnt enough clearance etc etc etc, very frustrating.
After 2 weekends of wiring and trying to set the damn dizzy up in the right way with all the bits pointing in the direction, i turned the key and BROOM BROOM BRRRROOOOMMM straight out of the headers.
The noise is unbelievable after waiting about 3 years (i decided to make the conversion from 6 to 8 and it has been off the road for over 3 yrs) with drama after drama it finally came to life and it rocks!!!!!
I feel like i have actually gotten so close to the light at the end of the tunnel.

Now all i need is a tailshaft and wheels and go down and rego the ol LH torrie once again and it will prowl the streets with a large appetite for RICE.

Its a good feeling when your motor turns over for the first time hey!! Sounds like yours is an especially emotional moment! Hope you took some video footage of it! I know i did with mine!

Congratulations Nibbsy!

What type of gearbox did you have trouble fitting?
