Hey mate

It all comes down to dollars Kosteki will build you guaranteed horsepower but are very xeee

Kwinana Performance A1 Performance will do a good job then there is 308 performance centre .

There is a forum member on here that has got Boz race engines in his signature that is from Perth.

If you look in Perth Street Car magazine there are heaps of crew that have the numbers on the board.

There is also Pavtek race engines over east with guaranteed horsepower have a look at their website.

ask for customer recomendations if it's a big dollar build
go to the drags and ask in the pits the people running the combo you want
but yeah knew a guy who works/worked for kec
and he was good lol

A few on that list I would avoid
1 infact I wouldn't let pump up the tyre on my wheelbarrow

Vlada at VA Mechanical in Jandakot is good too

What do you want to achieve from the motor ?
Drag , Street or circuit ?

Dave @ Extreme Performance in Bibra lake built my 308/355 but I cant comment just yet as I havnt run my motor yet! but I was very happy with the service (on time and very helpful) but yea give me a few months and I can comment on how the motor performs.

But yea 308 Performance center have definitely built some very powerful 308's

Con at balcatta engine reconditioners did my engine, ozyozyozy's engine, and I'm pretty sure from memory 2WILD4U's engine. I couldnt be happier, and the other guys are pretty stoked from what I've seen.

Hey Everyone

Thanks for all your replys!

Not wanting anything over the top in power just something that will be a good cruiser but have some power on tap maybe 300hp or so. Budget is 6-10k but would prefer it to come in at around 8 if possible.

Have got a couple of quotes so far from Kwinana Performance, Kendrick Automotive and KEC. All look as though they will come in around or under the 8k mark.

The torrie currently has a TH350 trans. What level of power would this be able to handle before i would have to start thinking about a TH400?

Thanks

A well built and setup T350 will easily handle your 300 plus horse power and suck a lot less power than a T400. Good choice of box.

For 300ish HP your TH350 will be fine ..... I wouldn't go the heavier TH400.
I see 'fatslr' mentioned 'Pavtek' over here in Melb, I've used them and highly recommend their work .

i agree with dattoman dont know bout letting some of those guys you said touch my engine.
as dave said i used con at balcatta engines, iv heard the 308 shop has good name.
csc in wangara, he has built just about every form of holden 308 that can be built, he can be a bit weird at times but has treated me ok when if had dealings with him.
be careful coz, i like others have been #ucked by most of the so call reputable places, so if you do find someone good stck with them.

I have allways built my own engines useing Performance Modifications for my machine work, but i have only ever herd good thing from Con at Balcatta engines.
I would stay with the turbo 350 as the turbo 400 are to big and heavy for a mild engine.
If your box needs a rebuild i recomend DTM in malaga 9249 9658 Chris is the best around :spoton:

Cool thanks guys.

Con in balcatta seems to get nothing but good reviews so might have to give him a call i think.
