Hey all,
Have been calling around for the last few days on getting a trimatic shift-kitted as the one I have in it now keeps slipping and engaging/disengaging. (the fluid has been checked several times).

I did have one in the shed waiting to go in, but I had that stolen from my shed, and am now back to square 1.

Anyways, being from a relativly smallish town, im finding it hard to find someone who is willing to do the job, and secondly someone who is willing to do it for a price that is not sky high.
The prices I have got around town are all over the $1000 mark for a shift kitted auto on an exchange basis, un-installed. This is for a holden 6.

Does this price sound too high, or should I think about sending the box to brisbane?

$1000 I feel is a lot of money for a shift kit.

Full manual valve bodies and the such usually go for the same price.....

Does anyone know of a reputable place in brisbane they can recommend trying?

Cheers

Which is easier for you north or south Brisbane?

Either, as I would be sending through freight anyways. I just need somewhere that will do a good kit at a good price.

Shop around as i got a price of $600 for a trimatic to be rebuilt, and strengthened enough that a turbo 202 would'nt kill it. It does pay to shop around though.

I paid about $1050 for mine fully rebuilt but it did have a cracked mainshaft due to abuse by previous owner this included having a stage 2 shift kit installed. It was done by Precise Automatics and i couldnt ask for better service. I think it comes down to how much do you want to spend vs what the box needs to put up with.
