Does it go from panel to panel?

The picture looks a bit too short.

When spot welding the valance to the rad support; what are people using inside the valance panel? YouTube suggests Por 15, Rustoleum or Carboline multi-gard GP 48, but there’s mixed reviews on them. Would anyone have any recommendations or suggestions?
What about the best weld through primer for under the spot welds?
Is spraying the rad support and valance panels with anti chip stuff like Wurth the done thing before applying the black satin topcoat?
I’m obsessed with rust protection so any input or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,
Nick

Upol copper weld through is popular, though I prefer zinc based. Personally I would bare metal and etch prime with 2k epoxy, excepting the spot weld areas. Anything on top is a bonus, as the epoxy is impervious. Maybe a 2k stone guard such as Raptor. Never used it myself.

Thanks Clay, what brand Zinc based weld through do you recommend? You mean bare metal the repro Rares panels, right? So the black stuff they coat them with has to go?
Good advice on the stone guard layer, thanks again.

Thus one from Upol

Definitely remove the coating back to bare metal.

When attaching the valance to the rad support; does anyone know how to properly address this gap here?
It looks like an epic way to collect water in the valance.

Worrying about nothing. Plenty of water will also get in via the big holes for the indicator wiring directly above the indicators.

Just ensure the insides of that valance area is well rustproofed and the drain holes are clear.

Yeah right. No wonder the old one was rusted to buggery.
