in todays sydney daily telegraph;;;;

The tiny box of magnets that drove a wedge between peter brock and holden in the 80s
is back. The energy polarizer is being revived by Bev Brock, who built the originals.

At the time the polarizer was a polarising device, with claims and counter claims between
brock and holden eventually leading to a split between them.

brock said the polarizer was able to align the molecules in a vehicle to improve every
area of its preformance, but holden countered that it was mumbo-jumbo with no scientific support.

Bev brock wants to leave the controversy in the past and says her only interest is in making something that people want.

"i'm told the lastest polarizer to sell on ebay went for $6000.00. the price has been between $2000 and $2500 for some time" she says.

She denies any personal profiteering and says her limited -edition polarizer (shes making 350 at $2200 each) is for brock fans and collectors.

"I've got a one-off chance to do something to give my kids something and to put something into the estate, this will be the only venture of that kind"

" nobody else would be in the position to do this, because i've kept the paper work. And i made the originals. it's authentic, with all the information as supplied with the initial
Polarizer, along with original decals, copies of press articles, testing forms, certificate of authenticity and photos"

The new-age Polarizer is identical to the original, with many built using original pieces from the 80s.

Energy Polarizer 05 is already committed as an auction item, with proceeds going to the Peter Brock Foundation,But Bev brock is not expecting anyone to fit a Polarizer to there car.

"this is a one off and a rarity,I make no claims and there is a disclaimer, I will not buy into its past history" she says......

I guess if anyone should be entitled to make money out of the Peter Brock name then it has to Bev.
A great lady and good luck to her, I hope she sells them all although I wont be buying one...

Out of interest what did they cost when they were being flogged on the market in Peters day.

Cheers
Herne

I seen one on Ebay for $600 about 8 months ago,so i dont know if the Price of $6000 is correct or not unless they have gone through the roof in price to buy now.
Im Guessing in the 1980's to buy one off HDT in the day would not of been that Pricey to buy a new one,But if Bev can sell them good on her,Bruce Lee wife Linda Lee set up The Bruce Lee Estate after Bruce Died for Her self and Bruce's Kids Brandon&Shannon Lee,Unless the Brock foundation is the P.B Estate thingy,im not sure, but if not.
Bev Brock or the Kids together should set up something Like Linda lee did,The Bruce Lee Estate,as anything with Bruce's Name or likeness Etc you have to go through the Bruce Lee Estate, and get Permission from them to sell anything Etc.

I think it is a shame to reproduce something that reminds us all of the most embarrassing time in Brock's life. I guess we will see if people are still as gullible now as Brock was in the 80's.

Artist Piero Manzoni proved that collectors will buy anything when he released "Merda d'artista" in 1961. A tin from his collection sold on May 23, 2007 for EUR124,000 at Sotheby's.

Weren't people taking them out of their HDT cars and throwing them away?

A lot of people may merely purchase it as a collector's item, I don't really like your last sentence a lot, but I agree with the rest.

What Holden should of done in 1988 over the Polarizer,Was to say it is abit like puting a Saint Christopher on your dash,if you Believe its going to work it works. Would of saved the Bust up over the Polarizer with Brocky's HDT Organisation.

G'day All

Bev's book "PETER BROCK, Living With a Legend", chapter "The Brock Brand", starting at page 162 explains it all.

If it is made from the same bits, came from the same person who designed it then I can see nothing wrong with selling that item.

Let me put it this way, if YOU made something some time back that NOW you can make more money out of, then what's the problem with selling it when the market is right.

If you have the money to buy it and want it then it is no one elses business that you do so.

My spin on it, "Go Bev" :spoton:

Regards .... Barry
