And how do you compare the new carbies to the original Italian made ones?

Have heard that the new ones or the spare parts made in spain their tolerances are not like italian ones.
Was shown variations by a weber expert but maybe work ok thou.

Anyone seen any of the imitation Webers filtering in from China, look the part but apparently don't perform like a Weber.

Only other thing I have been told about the new spain produced webers is you can have a bit of a problem with the progression holes that can be fixed buy milling the hole to a suitable size.
I have spent the last 6 mths doing research on these carbys and you still can't beat finding someone that has worked on them for the past 20-30 yrs and racking there brains for info or getting them to set them up for you.
The two guy that i use over here in Adelaide is Chris from EFI Carby Services and John from Kent Town Auto Tune both been working with webers for over 30 yrs.
Hope this help you a bit as now that I have got mine tuned and running well there is nothing like the power that they put out and the sound of 6 throats sucking in air and roaring through the revs

I brought a set of triples of them through ebay about a year or so ago and have only recently got them going on the car. You will need to rejet them to suit your motor as I found that the jets that came in them seem to be more suited to euro 4cyl cars.Got my jets through Recarb up in QLD they advertise on Ebay. Also had quiet a few leaks from different spots but not hard to fix few of the screws were over tightened.Other than that the only other mods that I had to make was to the redline manifold which I had to hit with the die grinder to remove a few moulding burrs in the ports and also where you mount the carbys to the head extractor bolts were hitting and couldn't get a mounting block on to press the manifold and extractors on to the head.

I'm new when it comes to these discussions but I thought I would try and help and ask a few questions. A friend of mine actually pulled apart an Italian 45 DCOE 152, and a Spanish DCOE 152 and they were identical. When talking with fellas down at the track, it seems it about 50/50 with guys running Italian/Spanish carbs. They didn't really have a reason why. The only reason I have heard people tend to use the Italian carbs is because they are restoring a car that is period and originally came with webers... I still can't figure out which way to go. I've been reading up and am in the market for some at the moment and have the same questions. What roughly should I be paying for a set? What should I look for with second hand carbs? Thanks.

I guess we should be supporting the Australian suppliers. But these guys seem to have some pretty good pricing - www.scparts.co.uk
I ended up buying a set of triple 45s from weber performance carburettors last week. I was going to buy second hand but the cost would have ended up being more once I got them reconditionedl etc. Cost was a bit under $2500 for everything. They said they would fully rejet the carbs to whatever spec I wanted for $70 a carb. I didn't bother as I have a mate who has all the jets and a dyno...... 6 hours after fitting and I now have 274hp on by red 202!! Can't wait to get to the track. Definitely worth a look - www.weberperformance.com.au
