I have been searching on here with no luck, i have seen and read that people have changed the front end in LX's to improve steering/handling etc, i am wanting to find out how hard this swap is and what the advantages are in doing this.

Grab a UC 6cyl front end and just bolt it in as it should be disc. (refresh if need be)

Watch the 4cyl front ends as some have the engine mounts that will not accept the V8/6 configuration.

I may need to be corrected here but I believe the UC had both an Opel 4 and a starfire 4 (cut down 6cyl design). If you must take a 4cyl front end, take the starfire type but get the disc brake type to start with unless you are doing a brake upgrade which means different spindles required anyway.

Good luck.

A Torana with an LX front end can be modified to handle just as well as a Torana with a UC front end. This subject was covered in another thread recently, but I can't be bothered searching for it ATM.

The main differences are:

Different camber and castor settings, which can be achieved through an alignment.
Different spring, shocks and sway bars, which can easily be replaced.
Different bushes in the lower control arms, which would be due for replacement by now anyway.
The top control arm was re-positioned to increase castor - see first point.
Solid mounted rack. This would stop the rack moving around as much, but so would using urethane bushes in your LH/LX. You could always machine up some bronze bushes in a lathe like I did. You would then have a solid mounted LH/LX rack.

Thanks so what your saying is that there is no real advantage in the whole exercise

Back when RTS was brand new, yes there was a significant advantage. Now nearly 30 years down the track, the aftermarket parts that are normally installed during a front end re-build ( which is probably due every 15 - 20 years ), can make a non RTS Torana just as good ( if not better ) than a stock RTS Torana. There are some benefits in having a UC front end, but it would be hard to pick under normal driving conditions.

And as far as taking my own medicine, I am deliberately installing an LH front end in my UC drag car. I just don't see the need for the UC front end in this application. Besides, I got the LH front end for free. The car was stripped to a bare shell, so everything was coming out and repaired/replaced and re-installed anyway. The other slight advantage is I now have a perfectly good UC front end as a spare for my UC streeter. There is method in my madness.
