hi, just wondering about primer for flairs and bonnet scoop. I bought some primer from the pro Tec shop. The dude there said its almost like an etch. It's clear and the directions say to spray the top coat directly to this, but I have a few little scratches and holes that need filling. So my question is do I do this before I prime with the clear primer or after or could I spray some putty or primer filler over the clear primer then top coat. Hope I haven,t confused any one.Cheers Dan.

Hi Dan, I would spray the plastic part with the plastic primer, then spray your primer filler over that so you can either block out your scratches or apply some 2K fine bog filler, then you would repeat with your primer and prepare as normal.

Most plastic primers are only required on bare plastics, you can still apply a coat in between your primer and your colour topcoat if you want but it shouldnt be necessary unless you have rubbed through to the plastic.

if you are going to spray primer filler ther is no point in spraying the plastic primer, just polyester fill the lows, use primer filler rub back . you could also just 180 the plastics repair whats needed then apply your plastic primer, rub down with a fine pad and repeat the prosses untill all scratches and fur are gone then one more coat and then superfine, then paint

my bad, I only had a quick look at them and they are fibre glass. Thanks Viper! sorry for the mix up.
Does this mean you just prep them as per normal or do you need some other primer for fibre glass.
