If you want heavier then I think a Massey Ferguson tractor balancer was the answer.

The Chev straight 6 (250-292 etc) and 90deg V6 balancers are dimensionally the same as the SB balancers (and in some cases the same p/n is used for all three applications). I'm unaware of any others that are a bolt-on fit with the Holden six. Bigger balancers can be sleeved down to fit (keeping in mind the torque loadings that the sleeve has to transmit) but would require a bigger seal boss be welded into the timing cover. The big block Chrysler balancer looks good - it's relatively narrow and has a big enough bore to allow a reasonably thick-walled sleeve. You just have to house the (much) bigger front seal.any chance of an inline 6 chev balancer fitting? summit racing have fluid filled balancers to suit the inline chev 6. might be a good one for the stroker?

Edit: it just occurred to me that you might have more options if you dont turn the snout of the Ford (stroker) crank down to the Holden diameter. NFI what the snout dia. of a 221 crank is though...

not sure if 221 is same as 250, but a bloke with a crossflow cortina that runs aspo mid 11's down this way sed he had the crank turned down only a small amount for a sbc balancer, wait, mightve been balancer reemed out and the bum of it turned down, cant remember but he reckons it was not much trouble at all. Fixed his flexplate coming loose as well

food for thought

That's very interesting. I just looked it up and the Ford snout is only a few thou bigger than the SBC, so it would probably be an easy conversion. I'd definitely give it a go on a stroker six..

Mate, these balancers are UNREAL !
Seriously, I was having trouble with the outer ring moving (budget track car that sees 6500 - 7000rpm occasionly.)
More of an XU-1 copy than a full on performance balancer.
So far, so good.

Yes the Romac weighs 3.6kgs and the B & M weighs 4kgs as i have both and correct B & M are no longer available. So your choice is the powerbond at 2kgs ro the all steel Romac at 3.6kgs or do the Massey Ferguson tractor mod as Craig and Old Johnno have said.I use a Romac and I can tell you its considerably heavier than standard.
If you want heavier then I think a Massey Ferguson tractor balancer was the answer.
