They will not bolt straight in. The bolt spacing is slightly different. A friend of mine put a pair of VK front seats in the front of his HJ around 15 years ago. He said he only needed a spanner and a round file to get them to fit, but he was never the most reliable source of information.

I belive tht if you use the standard mounting points on both the seats and floor ( especially the floor) then it'll be legal though you may still need to get engineers approval.

I actually fit WRX seats straight into the HQ coupe.. the rails are exactly the same width, and we made up some spacers and mounts to re-use the original bolt holes in the floor.

They look good and are comfy too!

im mounting recaros,my plans are to bolt steel bars along each side of the seat and bolt them to the underneath of the seat, then bolt torana rails to those steel bars. all bolts will be high tensile, anyone recon this will bring up leagal issues?

cheers

In QLD you need a blue plate no matter how you do it.
If they are non-std - Blue Plate it.

In NSW, if you use the original mounting points then you can get away without anything, but it is often best to get an Engineers Certificate.
