Hi All,
I bought a set of Simmons B45 Rims on Ebay http://cgi.ebay.com....E:L:PMR:AU:1123
....I hadn't seen the 7JJ x 15 stamping on Simmons before, but thought maybe they were later rims?
I asked the seller to remove the tyres for transport, and when he did he found ROH stamped on the inside of the rim.
I asked him if they were 3 piece rims - he said they have the cap head screws which appear to be bolting them togther, but he also said they look like they are welded together on the inside.
He also said they are chrome rims, not alloy, and there is no 'Simmons' cast on the centre....

I have asked him to dens me some more pictures of any identifying marks.

Sounds to me like thay are copies - can anyboday give me any info on what they might be, and whether they are they any good?

My guess would be copies. If they are, they wont be a composite rim.
They shouldn't have been advertised as 'Simmons' rims.

They do look like 3 piece to me, ROH 3 piece wheels are reasonable quality

I grabbed them because they had a 130mm backspace - most simmons have had 140-150mm...
Thes will most likely be my racing rims, so I want them to be reasonable quality.
The seller wasn't being deceptive - He beleived that they were simmons, until he took the tyres off & found the ROH stamp....

The Inner/Outer rims could possibly be ROH items, do the centres have simmons cast in them?

Seller has email me today saying he is confident now they are NOT Simmons, and sent through some pics.... looks like the centre is actually welded to the outer, and the Cap screws are just for decoration.
... looks like I'll give them a miss.
