1979 Bathurst Winner - HDT A9X Torana

Biante is proud to announce the upcoming release of our 1:18 Holden Dealer Team Torana A9X as driven to victory by Peter Brock and Jim Richards in the 1979 Hardie Ferodo Bathurst 1000.

Brock and Richards dominated this event with pole, a six lap winning margin and fastest lap on the very last lap. With the intervention of safety cars in the races since there will never be a more dominant Bathurst 1000 victory again.

This car features new interior pieces including seats, steering wheel, door trims and new left side exit exhaust. The most important new addition however is the inclusion of a race driver figure of Peter Brock at the wheel.

Resplendent in red overalls with sponsor logos and red, white and black full-faced helmet, this figure adds a degree of life to this significant Bathurst winning replica. The figure is fully belted in the car and grips the steering wheel with a nice relaxed 'Brock-like' grip.

The addition of this driver figure is a first for Australian released 1:18 diecast model cars.
This model is set to become one of the most collectible cars we have ever produced and will be supplied with a signed certificate by Peter Brock and forms part of our Peter Brock Collection.

Price is $198 inc GST and will be avalible june-july 06

Also coming out real soon is the 1979 bob morris atcc winging a9x

I won't be buying this one, just like I didn't buy the '78 model or Harvey's car. If I'm going to spend nearly $200 on a model, I wan't it as close to the original as possible. Unfortunantly, the law won't allow this. I know the offending stickers can be made, but that's not the point.

On the subject of the model. All I can say guys is that this is THE ONE to get. Even if you are not a collector, it will definately be an investment. There are already talks that the price of this car will exceed over $500 once released. I cannot wait to have it sit next to the 78 car. I only hope that down the road Biante do the rest of the HDT A9X stable...

Still waiting for the SS Torana to come too...

Cheers
Mick

Hey Spyder
Where do you go or ring to order these. Do you have to join the Biante club or something?
I am not a model collector but i would like these.

Most good hobby shops deal with Biante. Just go in and ask for one to be saved for you. I've done that plenty of times.
