Guys,

I have a torana sheel with all matching numbers. I am trying to do some research as to what it was originally. Can anyone help? I have looked through all my books but, it is not a typical VIN (i.e. 82311J23456J).

VIN: 8B11DDL262090J

CHASSIS STAMP: BLJ34899A

PASSANGER SIDE PLATE:
Model: LJ82311 - 's' Two door
Body - 99151A
Trim 1878-50E
Paint - 568-15893 (I can't find this paint code either)

The car was built in 1/74, so it is quite a late one.

Any help or direction would be fantastic

Colour is "Chrome Yellow" 1878 and 15893.

568 is a solid colour not metallic.

50E trim is Black long grain pattern vinyl with some type of insert, not vinyl or houndstooth.

8 is Holden.
B is S trim Level.
11 is 2 door sedan.
First D is a small six not 202.
Second D is for Sept 73 to Aug 74 built.
L2 is Adelaide assembly line.
J is for LJ series.

The VIN you were expecting is the pre 73 VIN (maybe pre September 72) After that the VIN changed to the one you have on that car. Both my 73 cars (5/73 SL and 9/73 S) have a VIN of that format.

You should also have details of the Engine, Gearbox and diff on your tags.
