Assume you might be running Windows XP? or a windows proggy....

Click on start button/programmes/accessories/paint then select the picture you want and finally click attributes to resize it. A bit of practice doing this will give you the knowledge to make it a very simple task.
This will resize your pics.
Of course there are many other programmes that do this aswell but at least this one is part of windows.

Cheers

If you want to make pictures smaller then Paint is adequate, but if you're resizing 30 photos to stick on a website for a Run Report or something and you want them all to be uniform in size (incl thumbnails etc) and the same quality then a program like Photoshop is really necessary.

Agreed, it also gives you no option of what quality JPEG you want... it always seems to make it huge in KB and shit in visual quality :P

Is there a way of doing lots of photos at once, or do I have to bite the bullet and do each individually.. I'd rather not have to do it 200+ times.

Agreed as above ^^^^ there are better programmes available for doing many things that Windows can do and this very much includes resizing and converting of .JPEGS etc

But it is amazing how many 'part time users' are not aware of what Windows does include in its O/S package.

Burning is another that readily comes to mind.

I use ACDSee for all my picture viewing and resizing, fairly easy to use. Unsure as to wether it does batch processing tho.

Best way I find is to highlight all the pictures you want then right click on one of the pics and go to Send to and you will get a drop down window
Then click on to Mail Recipient then you will get a little pop up that ask you if you want to resize your pics for fast viewing say yes.
Then outlook will open a new email then you will see all your pics in the attachment bar so right click on one and go select all then go copy and save them in a folder on your desktop then close the email and dont save changes and dont save on clipboard.
Then you will find that the pics are perfect for web viewing and a good size for sending to people.

ACDsee is a top program.. HEAPS of very powerful features!

I remember a friend sent me ACDSee many years ago.

I notice there are only trial versions available now, are there any free ones around?

Even an old version will do.

If you're using Windows XP, for a simple picture resize, all you need to do is install Image Resizer. It is one of Microsoft's PowerToys for Windows XP.

You can get it here

Then all you need to do is right click on the picture you want to resize and select from the options. It's basic, works well and best of all it's free!
