exact differences from standard to RTS front end

according to the info on there the wishbone mounting holes are the easiest way to identify the different front ends..
problem is mine seems to be different to everything on there...
or im just measuring or misreading something.

this is the info from the sight.
 

LH/LX non RTS 57mm LX RTS 65mm
UC 35mm A9X 60 mm and the UC 35 mm mount position. The lower holes we used on the A9X due to the HZ one tonner stub axles used on the A9X.

mine is measuring about 45mm!!!!!
everything looks standard
theres no weld marks or evidence of previous repair and i just pulled this thing apart from a driving car.

am i doing something wrong??

my cars a 1975 btw.

I'm going through all this atm. Been checking a few front ends I have & I can confirm the dimensions from top of plate to UCA bolt center; LH = 50mm,  LX (pre RTS) = 50mm,  LX- RTS = 65mm,  UC = 35mm.

I have 3x LH, 1x early LX, 1x LX - RTS & 1x UC front ends to measure from so I agree with the above except for ohhgeee's 57mm for LH.

 

I have enough parts to make the ultimate A9X RTS front end but what I do have in my car atm is a bit odd & seems to work well for street/circuit except for the heavy steering.

 

I have a UC K frame with LH/LX UCA mounted 35mm from top plate. Torana stubs & LX steering arms. Steering rack is LH x 18-1 ratio. The car is lowered & on heavier springs & has a nice squat.

Wheels are 14x8 fronts & 14x10 rear. The front negative camber is noticeable when looking at the car & I can't find my wheel alignment sheet atm but what I can tell you is that I have no signs of uneven wear on my Yokohama 245/14/50 352. I reckon I've done about 10,000 klm so far. What it could do with is a UC or Harrop steering arm upgrade to level out & bring forward the tie rods a little more but other than that, It seems all is ok. You may see how the car sits in my garage photos.

 

Has any one seen this front end combination before? My whole aim is to do a better brake upgrade with the best of the RTS improvements but wondering if it's all worth it in the end.

I've managed to achieve a touch over 5 degrees of caster (maxed out on the shims with UC top arms) and about 1 degree of negative camber and I can tell you the difference the extra caster makes to the handling is signficant. Its got 255/40R17 tyres on the front and still looks after them reasonably well. I'm still with the Torana stubs and UC steering arms as I have a Hoppers front brake conversion, also have power steer now but it was driveable without (just couldn't tip it into the corners fast enough).

If you want it to handle as well as possible and your roads have corners in them then its definitely worth chasing the extra caster in my opinion. The rest depends on your brake setup.

the measurements i have written above are copied from the link that lx308 sent me.
im just going off that not sure whats what on my own to be honest.
has anybody got an answer to my question as to why mine are different from any measurements above?
mine are 45mm

How are you measuring?

Are you measuring from the hole face & vertically up through to the middle of the top mounting plate or from the edge of the top mounting plate to the end of the UCA bolt. If you measure both ways, I think you may find a difference as the UCA vertical mount & the top plate chassis mount is not square. The measurements may not be precise because of this reason.

The LH/LX non RTS measurement is probably wrong. I measured the LX and UC myself but I was given the LH and A9X measurements so they could be wrong.

I have changed the measurement on my site for the LH to 50 mm based on Ando's post.

This is how it is measured.
