Has anyone used the jaycar programmable ignition?

On my supercharged 179 red motor i have a crane cams ignition set up, crane LX 92 coil, crane HI-6R cdi, crane TRC 2 timming retard controller and a crane map sensor, all up its probably over $1000 worth and its been running for about 10 months and shit itself.
the fualt diagnosis LED lights up but doesnt blink, i was told the dissy wasnt triggering so i put the dissy in to be tested, regraphed and rebuilt, $250 later i put it in and eventually it started, i put everything back together and it stopped on the highway, checked for spark, no spark, tried triggering of the white points trigger wire, no flash on the LED, no spark at the coil.
checked all the wires, all terminals are clean, no wires have rubbed or pulled anywere.
So i am guessing its cactus and i am looking for a replacement. im not really keen on replacing the box again, cdi box alone is $440 (it was much dearer before our dollar went good)
A alternative from MSD digital with timing retard control would be mega dollars and ive heard alot of bad stories about MSD.

What i am after is a affordable ignition with a strong reliable spark under high boost at high rpm with boost retard to retard the timming about 2 degrees per 1 pound of boost.
I remember seeing something on a jaycar kit about boost retard if a map sensor is added, my crane map sensor is basically a GM map sensor.

has anyone used the jaycar ignition with boost?
is it suitable and compariable to the big cdi boxes?
would a jaycar kit still work with the big crane cdi E core coil?
will jaycar unit trigger from the magnetic pick up?

NFI about the jaycar box. What about a Bosch HEI with a Bosch coil used with a MSD 5462? It'd be relatively cheap and I wouldn't be at all surprised if it outperformed the whiz-bang Crane CDI..

Sry mate was going to reply to this earlier.

If you wanna have a read, shoot me a PM with your email addy and ill send you the full silicon chip in depth writeup of the programmable ignition kit (the full doc that comes with the kit) so you can have a read and determine suitability. They don't put that up on the website.

I am possibly toying with the idea of building this, wouldn't be that hard, and i've heard good results. I find it a bit confusing in parts but reckon ive got an ok idea of how it works. It shouldn't be a problem with boost, you can set 2 ignition curves which gives you a bit of flexibility.

If you're from Melbourne come to Ringwood store on a weekend and im happy to pop one open for you if you wanna take a look

Brad.

after losing a few ebay auctions for 2nd hi-6 boxes in US, i did a bit more checking and found that i had a bad fuse holder for the main ign fuse wich was dropping out as soon as i put load on it so my ignition isnt dead after all.
I might still look at adding the jaycar programmable kit to the hi6 down the track but for now i am just going to muck around with the fuel side and maybe put on a bigger carb or even LPG
My next step will be a air fuel meter, ive also been looking at at the jaycar kits for that, not sure if its worth going wideband as there is a big price difference and i dont know how long the dearer wideband 02 sensor will last in my exhuast with octane boosters and the variations of rich/lean from a carb.
there is a narrowband kit with a lean out alarm for about $29 but if its going to be hard to get a helpfull reading i might have to fork out for the wideband kit. I am guessing with the wideband disply kit i also have to by the wideband controller aswell as a 5 wire sensor.
